Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling has sent out a new recycling guide.
Please pay attention to what is & is not recyclable! WFWR does not set the policy on what materials will be accepted. Recently, their recycling facility changed their policy on plastic bags and can no longer accept any plastic bags in the recycling. Any recyclables that are bagged in plastic will not be recycled – the entire bag will go in the trash! You can continue to bag recyclables in paper grocery bags.
You can recycle:
- Paper: junk mail, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, paper bags, office paper, paperboard boxes, clean pizza box lids, shredded paper (please bag in a paper bag and staple the bag shut)
- Metal: aluminum cans, steel cans, empty aerosol cans
- Plastic #1-7: HDPE containers and lids, drink bottles, food bottles and jars, PET bottles and jars
