Emergency Alerts
There are two emergency notification systems for canyon residents: CodeRed and the Valley Emergency Communications Center. We encourage all residents to sign up for BOTH systems.
1
CodeRed
The new system set up by the Emigration Canyon Metro Township Council is called CodeRed. CodeRED delivers a pre-recorded message through a high-speed telephone calling system by phone, email, text and social media. Weather Warnings from the National Weather Service are also available. You must opt-in. Setting up a managed account will allow you to make future updates to your information and alerts options.

All canyon residents should register for CodeRed. CLICK HERE.

What if you don’t live in the Canyon but work, visit or bike the Canyon? You will be able to receive alerts when your device is physically within the canyon by downloading the CodeRED mobile app. Please note, you must have Location Services enabled on your phone, and your device must be physically in the canyon to receive alerts.
Your information remains private and will only be used for CodeRED communication.
2
Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC)
Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC), which provides service to Emigration Canyon, has instituted a regional notification system that is able to send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within VECC’s area impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster.

If you have a phone other than a landline such as a cable network, VoIP or a cellular phone and would like to be notified over that device, you must register those your numbers.

VECC encourages citizens to go to http://www.vecc9-1-1.com/voip-registration/ and register cell and VOIP numbers, and email addresses so you can be notified in cause of an emergency.
